A Puppy, Bulldozer and Hells Angels

A German student created a major traffic jam in Bavaria when he ‘mooned’ a group of Hell’s Angels, hurled a puppy at them and then escaped on a bulldozer.

First I dare you to read that and not want to find out more… what a great lead in for a quirky news story. I love copywriting. I enjoy watching a great copywriter in action.

Reminds me of one of the best ads that doesn’t mix words and is my muse for brevity. Commonly attributed to Ernest H Shackleton who was looking for a crew for the Nimrod Expedition of the Antarctic:

“Men wanted for hazardous journey. Low wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. Safe return doubtful. Honour and recognition in event of success.”

What a story that tells. It also clearly states his target market. Those who can rough it out and seek the glory. This is the power of words that sell…
